Position Summary:

Two days per week:  The Assessment & Referral Nurse has responsibility for patient assessments for the 7p-7a shift on Thursdays and Fridays. Works closely with other mental health professionals to facilitate the admissions process.  Coordinaties with the Intake Department and Nursing Services on all admissions for the hospital and all patient populations. Works under the direction of the CNO and the Director of Assessment & Referral. 
In addition,may be called upon to perform other Nursing duties as needed or directed, ensuring patient safety as the priority

 
Requirements
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice nursing in the State of Arkansas. CPR certification is required.  Prior experience working in admissions in mental health facility is preferred. One to two years RN experience is preferred.

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred but not required. Must be knowledgeable and understanding of nursing practices and principles within the psychiatric setting. Ability to plan for and provide developmentally appropriate individualized nursing care. Ability to teach select aspects of nursing care to others. Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and /or making nursing decisions. Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with patients, families, visitors and staff.
