Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair, Department of Pathology and Immunology.

The Department's 97 full-time faculty include internationally recognized experts in the fields of anatomic and molecular pathology, immunobiology, laboratory and genomic medicine, and neuropathology. The Department ranks 4th among pathology departments in NIH research support and its strong conviction that basic science research leads to exceptional training and high quality clinical service has made the Department a vital bridge between the basic sciences and other clinical disciplines at Washington University. In the current fiscal year, the Department received grant awards and sponsored projects totaling more than $43M; the Department's FY16 operating budget totaled $98.8M.

The next Chair of Pathology and Immunology will be a nationally recognized physician scholar and leader in pathology, one with a distinguished record of achievement in research and clinical work, education, and administration who has demonstrated an ability to define a vision in the context of unprecedented advances in technology and a rapidly changing health care environment. She/he must demonstrate transparency, a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion in all its forms, and dedicated support for interdisciplinary and inter-professional collaboration. The Chair of Pathology and Immunology is a member of the Executive Faculty, the primary governing entity for the School of Medicine.
