The Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary, in conjunction with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a full-time Dermatologist at the Associate or Full Professor rank to provide leadership to the Division of Dermatology. Duties include the coordination and organization of clinical, research and educational programs within a multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will also participate in educational activities within the Cumming School of Medicine.

Qualifications include:

  • MD, FRCPC (Dermatology) or equivalent;
  • Eligibility for specialist licensure in the province of Alberta;
  • Established reputation for clinical excellence as a consultant dermatologist;
  • Strategic thinker with substantive medical administrative and leadership experience;
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity in the areas of medical education and/or research;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    The Division of Dermatology at the University of Calgary - Alberta Health Services offers extraordinary expertise amongst its members. It comprises 25 members consisting of both community-based and full-time academic dermatologists.  Core strengths and activities include:

  • A highly coveted, well respected Dermatology residency program;
  • A site of clinical excellence for a population of 1.8 million people in Southern Alberta, Southwest Saskatchewan and Southeast British Columbia.
  • Comprehensive academic and clinical consultative services at Calgary’s five adult hospitals and the Alberta Children’s Hospital. A new Calgary Cancer Centre (CCC), currently under construction, will be a leading health care and academic facility providing a full range of cancer-related services in southern Alberta.
  • Established subspecialty and interdisciplinary services in the areas of immunodermatology, transplant dermatology, wound care, patch and photopatch testing, pigmented lesions, cutaneous lymphoma, pediatric dermatology and procedural dermatology including Mohs’ micrographic surgery;
  • Clinical and basic science research programs with expertise in the fields of inflammation, immunity, microbiome and skin cancer.
