Innovative and Collegial Environments Attract and Retain the Best Faculty

The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking applications for two full-time clinical and/or tenure track faculty positions at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of General Practice and Materials Science. The primary responsibility for these positions will be directing and supporting didactic and clinical courses in the predoctoral restorative dentistry curricula. Other duties include contributing to the overall mission of the division, participating in university and college governance, supporting the college’s continuing education programs, and practicing in the college’s affiliated contemporary intramural Dental Faculty Practice.

The college is in the process of replacing its pre-doctoral classrooms, simulation/technology clinics, and patient care clinics with a $95 million state-of the - art facility. Each will be equipped with the latest in digital technologies that enhance student learning, improve efficiencies of operation, and facilitate patient care. Eight small group general practice clinics that focus on comprehensive care will provide an optimal environment for dental and dental hygiene students to work in an integrated model for delivering health care.

Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, previous predoctoral teaching experience, and clinical proficiency in CAD/CAM dentistry. They also must be eligible for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board. Information on state dental licensure is available at dental.ohio.gov/Licensure/ Dentist.aspx. Preference will be given to candidates with training in dental materials, cariology, digital technology, and an MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degrees. A tenure track appointment requires candidates to demonstrate a record of research, scholarly works, and teaching excellence.
