The Senior Segment Specialist for Medicare and Medicaid is a thought leader in guiding Performant teams regarding specific applications and interpretations of Medicare and Medicaid policy performing the following essential duties:

• Leverage extensive personal experience and strong professional networks to stay up to date on Medicare and Medicaid policies, proposed changes, market dynamics and key decision makers.
• Provides expert insights as to Medicare and Medicaid data, processes and policy.  
• Documents requirements for advanced analytics utilizing Medicare or Medicaid data and identifies third party data sources to further enhance analytic results.  
• Relies on experience and judgment to perform assignments.  
• Consults with customers to gather information.  
• Performs expert-level, segment analysis as required to support data product development.
• Provides advanced insights into market direction, trends, risks, changes and influencers.
• Actively participates in the analysis of client data to assess areas of non-compliance with industry policy.
• Supports sales efforts, marketing and client meetings as a subject matter expert – providing expert insights. 
• Consults with client product managers and executives as to Medicare and Medicaid market shifts, process optimization, data management and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
• Expert-level, industry recognized Subject Matter Expert, experience in and mastery of specific market segment.
• Possesses a Strong Analytical Aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills that can translate complex technical discussions into plain English and also communicate verbally with clients and other engineers working together on a project.
• Continuously keeps abreast of new research and ideas, technology & market trends.
• Basic understanding of statistics and other mathematical techniques.
• Excellent Technical Knowledge of SQL or other data logic / querying programming languages, and understands a variety of computer programs and other systems that are commonly used during an engineering project.
• A self-starter who has experience building and maintaining large databases and processing data from disparate sources.

Physical Requirements
Professional business setting, sits at a desk using keyboard, mouse and monitor to perform work. Headsets provided upon request. Works assigned schedule based upon business needs (full-time 8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week, and work extended hours/overtime as required to meet business needs) and requires:
• Able to work in face paced professional business environment. 
• Able to sit at desk, working on computer and phones. 
• Sit/stand/walk/reach/bend/stoop. 
• Lift/carry/push/pull under and over 10lbs occasionally.
• Keying frequency, handling, reaching, fine manipulation.
• Repetitive use of right/left arms and hands.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree; Master preferred. 
• At least 10 years or more of experience in roles specific to the focus Healthcare segments.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in working with analytics for the focus segment.
• Experience in applying segment policies to Healthcare payer operations.

- Must submit to and pass background check.
- Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues.
- Must not have any current defaulted student loans.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors.
- Must submit to and pass drug screen.
