L&D RN needed in Centreville, AL - A Labor and Delivery Nurse provides a balance of the same elements that are found in the ICU, OR, emergency department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery RN must have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the physician. A Labor and Delivery Nurse must be able to think in a fast passed setting and make decisions quickly. Labor and Delivery RNs help the physician and spend long hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a L&D Registered Nurse some of your duties consist of:

Assessing contractions, dilation, fetal heart rate, etc.
Providing follow-up duties which consist of:

Analyzing the condition of the newborn.
Assessing the condition of the mother.
Looking for signs of distress.
Watching for signs of infections and any other troubles.

Requirements

One year of experience as a L&D Nurse within the past two years.

Current Nursing License in good standing.
Current BLS from American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.
