L&D RN needed in Woodruff, WI - A Labor and Delivery RN offers a balance of the same elements that are found in the ICU, operating room, emergency department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse needs to have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the physician. A Labor and Delivery RN must be able to think in a fast passed setting and come up with solutions quickly. Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses aide the obstetrician and spend many hours on their feet.
Responsibilities
As a L&D RN some of your responsibilities consist of:

Assessing contractions, dilation, fetal heart rate, etc.
Performing follow-up duties which include:

Assessing the newborns general condition.
Assessing the condition of the mother.
Watching for signs of distress.
Checking for signs of infections and any other problems.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse within the past two years.

Active Nursing License in good standing.
Current BLS from American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.

Requirements
