Accounting Support Representative II

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Support Representative II, you will perform a variety of clerical functions in support of the accounting department processes and transactions which may include, but not limited to, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Expense Report processes, Corporate Tax processes, SEC documentation support, Trust Accounting, Compliance process, and other functions. Specific duties may change from time-to-time based upon departmental needs and as assigned by applicable management. Essential duties for the position includes:

Uses computer systems and applications appropriately and accurately to perform assigned duties.
Accurate and timely processing of a variety of transaction types.
Quickly learns and adapts to new processes, procedures and tasks across multiple accounting process and support functions.
Accurate and timely data entry, task processing and actions made to systems, data and reporting production, as well as related activities (filing, copying, scanning, mail activities, etc.)
Ensures proper documentation, approvals, and accuracy in G/L coding as applicable for specific function process in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Conducts research, compiles data, analysis, reconciliation and follow-up/outreach (internal and external) as required to complete assigned processes or tasks.
Support a variety of quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc audit processes for internal and external auditors (i.e. corporate taxes, 
May support review of processes and transactions as may be needed to support Sarbanes Oxley requirements such as process and procedures, transaction support and approval documentation.
Conduct reconciliation of a variety of data sets as assigned to support the department.
Assists with GL coding as assigned.
May perform certain application administrator activities in support of department processes (i.e. Expense Anywhere, Workiva, etc.)
Support journal entry activities and recording accruals.
Communicate professionally with various departments
Maintain (and may create) spreadsheets in EXCEL format that may be customized based upon business process.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Must have impeccable attendance and punctuality habits.
Demonstrated skills performing data entry, processing transactions, performing reconciliation, analysis, research, and process administration in a variety of functions with accuracy and efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes and functions to adapt and quickly add value to changing business needs.
Solid professional written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel software (creating spreadsheets, reports, formulas, etc.)
Highly skilled in 10-key operation
Able to produce standard journal entries (SJE)
Must be comfortable working in a high volume and extremely time conscientious environment
Must possess the ability to multi-task, be flexible to job demands and prioritize client/department requirements appropriately
Ability to work flexible hours/overtime as assigned and required to meet business needs. 

 




Physical requirements:

Job is in a busy standard office environment with moderate noise level, sits at a desk during scheduled shift, may make and return calls using an office phone system; views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse. Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed).

  • Sit/stand 8 or more hours per day; reach as needed to use office equipment
  • Consistently viewing a computer screen and types frequently, but not constantly, using a keyboard and mouse.
  • May only occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 10lbs.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma required. Some college level accounting course work highly desired.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience performing a variety of activities across multiple functions within a broader corporate Accounting department, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability of skills.

 


Other Requirements:

Must submit to and pass background check.
Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues.
Must not have any current defaulted student loans.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors.
Must submit to and pass drug screen.
Performant is a government contractor. Certain client assignments for this position may require additional background and/or clearances.
