The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) seeks a physician coeditor-in-chief to share editorial duties equally with the current nurse coeditor-in-chief on the bimonthly peer-reviewed research journal, American Journal of Critical Care.

Our contracted coeditors solicit manuscripts, oversee the peer-review process, render decisions about what to publish, work with support staff from the AACN publishing department, and contribute co-bylined editorials in AJCC three times per year. A generous honorarium and travel allowance are included.

Qualified individuals must demonstrate the following:

• Successful track record in research, writing, and publication in peer- reviewed journals

• Personal, professional, and ethical integrity of the highest order

• Project management skills and commitment to meeting deadlines

• Effective written and oral communication skills for writing editorials, mentoring contributors, and public speaking

• Record of collegiality and collaborative interprofessional practice

• Recognition of issues important to the critical care field and to nursing practice in particular
