McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, ON Canada seeks two-three outstanding child and adolescent psychiatrists with expertise in the assessment and treatment of children with ADHD, psychosis, mood and anxiety disorders.  Interest and expertise in consultation-liaison psychiatry and emergency psychiatry is a particular asset.  Experience with evidence-based assessment instruments and rating scales is needed and a commitment to multidisciplinary clinical assessment and evidence-based treatment models is also essential.  The candidate will work as part of an interprofessional team with a focus on treatment of complex, co-morbid, and severe mental illness in children and youth.  Our current needs include roles supporting a 22-bed inpatient unit, an emergency child and youth mental health service, consultation-liaison services, and outpatient services.

The child and adolescent psychiatrist will join other child and adolescent psychiatrists and pediatric psychologists in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University, and a team of Master’s level social workers and clinical nurse specialists.  Abundant education and supervision opportunities are available with the General Psychiatry Training Program and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Subspecialty Program, the Psychology postdoctoral program, residents from other departments, and medical and physician assistant students.
