Day Habilitation Health Care Supervisor, RN

Provides, supervises, and documents health care services in accordance with the appropriate state regulations, nursing standards, and Massachusetts R.N. licensure requirements.  Oversees all health-care services provided to consumers.  The Health Care Supervisor provides direct care and in-service training in relevant medical and health-related issues.  Coordinates medical services with each consumers primary care physician or medical clinic, group home staff, and/or family. Full Time.




Ensure and safeguard consumers human dignity, rights, and liberties:

  • Demonstrate a high regard for each person and sensitivity for cultural values, expectations, and goals of individuals, families, and others.

  • Display professional attitude and behavior, being courteous, empathetic, helpful, and positive in all interpersonal interactions.

  • Work effectively and cooperatively with individuals, staff, families, community members and others; presenting self and MMAHS in a positive and professional manner.

Dispense and document consumer medications.  Monitor:

  • Normal dosage range. Drug interactions and side effects

  • Blood levels.

  • Medication orders and Inventory of medications

  • Proper documentation on Medication Administration records.

  • Conduct medication reviews, as scheduled or as needed.

  • Review all pertinent consumer health concerns with consultants on an as needed basis.

  • Monitor and record vital signs and weights as scheduled or as needed.

  • Communicate with physicians, family/community residences, health care professionals, and service coordinators as necessary, regarding specific consumer medical issues.

  • Participate in individual case reviews. Participate in ISP meetings, as necessary, in developing ISP goals for each consumer and/or develop medical status assessments.



  • Currently registered with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of medications used for seizure disorders and behavior problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direct supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as physicians written orders, prescriptions, regulations, policies, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, subordinates, health care providers, consumers, family members and co-workers.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages and any other math required to appropriately calculate dosages of medication.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of regulations and instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

  • Ability to demonstrate adequate understanding of Windows based computer technology including

      searching the internet, Microsoft Word and Excel programs. 



  • One (1) year in a community health setting.

  • One (1) years experience in a training program for individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Bachelors degree or RN degree.
