Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is conducting a national search leading to the appointment of a talented and accomplished obstetrics and gynecology physician leader who will serve as Division Chief, of Women’s Health working in concert with the Chair and other leaders of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

  • In this era of transformation in American medicine, the new Division Chief will continue the commitment to growth and further development of the clinical programs in Women’s Health and dedicated to improving women’s health care in Southcentral Pennsylvania and beyond and have ample opportunities to grow and sustain a scholarly mission within the Division.
  • The Division Chief will work closely and collaboratively with key individuals to accelerate the continued development and growth of Women’s Health services from a clinical, educational and research perspective.
  • The Division Chief will be encouraged to capitalize on existing infrastructure within the department to support research, entrench existing relationships which foster clinical research as well as to develop new ones with individuals in other divisions, departments and across the University campus.
  • The Division Chief will have the opportunity to focus on identifying, establishing and implementing new clinical programs, recruiting key staff as needed and charting a course for vigorous growth, while balancing consistent clinical delivery, driving quality initiatives, and developing service standards.

Division of Women’s Health

  • The Division provides not only primary care but also specialty care in areas of general obstetrics and gynecology. The Division is comprised of 14 faculty positions, 4 Midwives, and 10 Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Over time, with expansion of faculty within the division, there are opportunities to develop areas of expertise in pediatric and adolescent gynecology, menopause, and the like.

Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology

  • Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a women’s educational, research and healthcare center that provides a wide variety of general women’s health care; gynecologic care; infertility, prenatal and genetic counseling; obstetrics care; women’s gynecologic cancer care and research education in women’s health, including a wide variety of complex issues involving obstetric and gynecologic disorders for women.
  • Divisions include: Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Gynecologic Oncology, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Women’s Health
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is a four-year, ACGME-accredited program that admits five residents per year. Their educational program includes an ACGME Accredited Fellowship Program in Maternal Fetal Medicine and an AAGL accredited Fellowship Program in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
  • Labor and Delivery will be moving from the main hospital to a new addition on the 7th floor of the Children’s Hospital and can accommodate up to 3,500 deliveries//year; and the Level IV NICU will be moving to the 8th floor of Children’s. This move is planned for November of 2020.
  • Currently, within the Division, many faculty members serve in a variety of capacities which are vital to academic women's healthcare, including Residency Program Director and medical student Clerkship Director as well as their Assistant Directors.

Education and Academic Rank

  • M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology is required.
  • Academic credentials and experience that qualify for appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor, impeccable academic judgment, and an uncompromising commitment to academic excellence.
  • Eligibility for a Pennsylvania state medical license is required.
