Emergency Medicine Assistant Professor
The Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center is recruiting for an Assistant Professor (tenure track). As an Assistant Professor (tenure track), duties will include directing multiple research projects in the field of resuscitation, collaborating on translational projects to improve the treatment of shock, and contribution to clinical and laboratory research projects in the field of resuscitation for such conditions as cardiac arrest, septic shock, traumatic injury, stroke, myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock, ischemia-reperfusion. 

Applicants are expected to hold a MD/PhD and be board certified in Emergency Medicine. This faculty position is primarily dedicated to conducting extramural funded research and providing clinical care with opportunities for involvement in education and administration/service. Candidates should possess a doctoral degree in physiology from an accredited institution of higher education. Candidates are expected to have a track record of obtaining extramural funding to advance their research program. 
Essential education, training, and skills:
- MD
- Ph.D. in physiology is required
- Post-doctoral fellowship training in an  applicable field of resuscitation science
- Proven skills in grant writing ability
- Translational research in the field of resuscitation science
- Expertise in the physiology of shock
- Proficiency in designing clinically relevant projects that have potential 
utility in treatment of shock
