The School of Kinesiology at Ball State University invites applications for the position of Lecturer of Kinesiology. This is a full-time contract faculty position in the School of Kinesiology with emphasis in the Physical Fitness and Wellness Program (University Core Curriculum requirement) available August 17, 2018 for the academic year. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Physical Fitness and Wellness courses – primarily Group Fitness and Walking activity courses.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications: Earned Master’s Degree in wellness, kinesiology, exercise science, physical education/health education or closely related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. Two years of group fitness teaching experience.      

 

Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

 

Preferred qualifications: At least five years of group fitness teaching experience and/or notable reputation, especially at a national level. Ability to teach a variety of physical activity courses. Group fitness and/or activity course teaching experience at a collegiate level.

 

Certifications/Licensures: Candidates must possess one or more of the following certifications: Group Fitness Instructor (ACE); Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA); Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM);

Similar certification to those listed above from a nationally/internationally recognized professional organization.
