JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent will provide healthcare service delivery and program administration and serve as a certification specialist for the medical and pharmaceutical benefits team. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing program deliverables and collaborating with occupational health subject matter experts.

'Review requests from physicians requesting beneficiary treatment authorization.', 'Assist the Medical Director in developing medical policy for treatment authorization.', 'Coordinate and update document management database with appropriate information to reflect clinical decisions made and scientific research used to justify decisions.', 'Provide program guidance to clinicians, medical administrators, and a diverse set of staff regarding trends in clinical information provided through treatment requests.', 'Lead the development and implementation of clinical audits to ensure that medical documentation entries and charting are complete, accurate and appropriate for necessary medical care.', 'Evaluate and design systems to improve processes for reviewing and finalizing medical determinations and communication to physicians.', 'Guide others in clinical study procedures.' ]

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Basic Qualification Requirements for the Nurse Consultant GS-0610-13: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Additional Basic Qualification Requirements for Nurse GS-0610-13: Passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Minimum Qualification Requirements for Nurse GS-0610-13: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, to include experience planning, coordinating and implementing clinical analysis in order to make accurate benefit and treatment decisions, while remaining in compliance with program policy, law and regulations.
