Job Summary:

To treat and assist patients of all ages and abilities in an orthopedic treatment center.



Essential Functions:



  • A physical therapist must be able to evaluate a patients condition and devise a customized physical rehabilitation and treatment plan to enhance strength, flexibility, range of motion, motor control, and reduce any pain, discomfort and swelling the patient is experiencing. This plan will also need goals for the patient to achieve to be stated.

  • Part of the evaluation includes examining the patients medical history, measuring the patients strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, motor function, and possibly the patients respiration.

  • Physical Therapists must care for the patients along with excelling at obtaining information, establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, making decisions and solving problems, performing general physical activities, communicating with fellow personnel and the patients, and organizing and prioritizing work.

  • Responsible for promoting the Standards of Excellence for Orthopedic Specialists demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, volunteers, peers and physicians.

  • Maintains a neat and orderly work environment, demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient care.

  • Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance

  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision

  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments

  • Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations

  • Minimum Requirements (education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required):

  • Bachelor of Science or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy

  • Current licensure in Occupational or Physical Therapy from State of FL Dept. of Health



 


Essential Physical Functions:



  • Ability to manipulate body parts to increase functional outcome of patients.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items used for therapy procedures.



 


Equipment Used:



  • Computer, scanner, printer, calculator, photocopier, facsimile, telephones

  • Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, diathermy, hot and cold modalities, and gym equipment.
