JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent will serve as the Associate Director for Policy and Issues Management with responsibility for providing advice to the Director on the development, direction, and coordination of budgeting, planning, policy, evaluation, legislative, and regulatory activities in the Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR), Office of the Director (OD), Office of Policy Planning & Evaluation (OPPE).

'As an Public Health Analyst (Policy & Issues Management) you will: Be responsible for the development and implementation of agency-wide planning and policy framework to support the programs and activities of CPR. Coordinate strategic planning activities across the units within OPPE to ensure appropriate linkage to business strategy development program accountability and evaluation. Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong ties with CDC policy and communication staff to ensure CPR follows a consistent CDC framework for policy and communication development, analysis, monitoring and maintenance. Review, analyze, and evaluate long- and short-term plans for their impact and contribution to CPR and CDC's long-range plans. Keep management informed of legislative developments that have an impact on existing and/or proposed programs. Analyze the impact of laws, regulations, and programs on CPR and proposes changes necessary to respond to changed requirements or situations. Supervise a small contingent of positions. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work when necessary. Provide advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.' ]

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in public health policy and legislative analysis; developing partnerships and networking; and experience implementing public health programs and communication initiatives. Documenting Experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record. In order to receive credit for experience in your resume that is not within the official series and grade level of your official position, you must provide a copy of the appropriate documentation of such experience as indicated above.
